APRIL 2010 - Social Studies Class News - The 8th Grade will be studying the era of American History from World War II through the Cold War. We are preparing for our state exam by completing DBQ questions and Essays each week in class and constantly reviewing historical vocabulary. Homework assignments may change but the change will be recorded into the assignment pad by your child. Check Folder for Test or Quiz to be signed and corrected on looseleaf. SOCIAL STUDIES - Week of May 3, 2010 Monday - Current Event DUE TODAY - international article Tuesday - Wednesday - Thursday - Study for Chap 24 Test IN SOCIAL STUDIES, WE WILL BEGIN TO REVIEW AND COVER TOPICS FROM SEVENTH GRADE THROUGH COLD WAR TO PREPARE OURSELVES FOR OUR STATE EXAM IN JUNE. PLEASE REVIEW EACH AND EVERY NIGHT FROM REVIEW FOR SUCCESS WORKBOOK. VOCABULARY, VOACBULARY, VOCABULARY !!! Science- STATE SCIENCE PERFORMANCE EXAM IS ON MAY 24. WRITTEN TEST IS ON JUNE 7. SCIENCE FAIR FOR 8TH GRADE IS OPTIONAL BECAUSE OF STATE EXAMS. ANYONE PARTICIPATING WILL GET EXTRA CREDIT. HOMEWORK FOR WEEK OF May 3rd. Due Tuesday- Finish Part 2 of the NYS science test for 2007 that was started in class. Due Wed. Complete the Part 2 section of the NYS science test fully on your own. We will review in class. Go on line to view the test and complete these test in your notebook. Any graphs should be printed out to work on. If you want to print out the entire section you may do so. All tests are expected to be signed and returned the day after they are given. Corrections are to be attached with complete questions and answers rewritten. As you are aware, assignments are subject to change. Please check your child's assignment pad daily. Thank you.
